June Parish Council Update

At our May Annual General Meeting, Tim Jenner was elected as our Chairman with Nigel Ottley and Peter Broome as joint Vice Chairmen.

Katarzyna Slawska attended our May meeting as our new Neighbourhood Warden, employed by Test Valley Borough Council. Neighbourhood Wardens are the eyes and ears of the community, providing a reassuring presence in the community.

Her responsibilities cover anti social behaviour, dog fouling, dangerous dogs and fly tipping.

The council have reported dog fouling in the children’s playground and litter and fly tipping at the Hollow.

To contact the Neighbourhood Warden, call 101 in an emergency or 01264 368000 for less urgent matters. Alternatively report incidents by email, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The council would like to thank Grounds Maintenance for an excellent job cutting the grass and strimming in the playground.

As you may have seen we have extended the allotment area with funds from the parish council, and a lot of help from Stuart Robinson, Becky Price, Richard Target, John Coulsting, Martin Glover, Liz Hedges and Peter Boulton. We now have 7 new allotments of which 4 are already being used and 3 are currently empty. We will also be planting a hedge in the autumn along with a small Jubilee orchard containing heritage plums, damsons, quince and pear. Thank you to everyone who sponsored a total of 44 trees at the Jubilee Day. Register your support for faster broadband in your area. Hampshire County Council are progressing their plans with Broadband Delivery UK to access government funding for faster broadband in those parts of Hampshire that have poor internet access. Communities in Hampshire are encouraged to register their support as those areas that register strong demand for faster broadband are likely to be included in the earlier stages of the phased rollout programme. To register complete the online form at https://www3.hants.gov.uk/broadband/broadband-signup.htm or call 01329 225398.
